NicheSpark is a free Chrome extension, built by Cybrum Solutions, that
automates the Google Instant (autocomplete) keyword method: it types each
research query into the visible Google search box, waits for the suggestion
dropdown, and saves every suggestion with the query that produced it.[^cws]
It replaces the manual loop of typing a query, reading the dropdown and
copying suggestions into a spreadsheet.

Tagline: **Discover Keywords. Uncover Opportunities.** Website:
nichespark.tech.[^site]

## Where it fits in the keyword process

In the manual Google Instant method, you type a seed, read the
autocomplete suggestions and copy them into a spreadsheet, then group them
by intent. NicheSpark does the typing, waiting, copying and deduplicating;
the grouping and planning stay with you.

It covers the **keyword research** step of the keyword process (finding
keywords through Google Suggest). Keyword grouping, content planning and gap
analysis are still done by hand, using its export.

## Install

1. Open the NicheSpark listing on the Chrome Web Store.[^cws]
2. Click **Add to Chrome**, then **Add extension**.
3. Pin it from the puzzle icon in the Chrome toolbar.

It is free, needs no account, and Chrome updates it automatically.

## Research methods

All queries are generated from one **seed keyword** per project (for example
`mobile car detailing`). Accidental duplicate queries are removed, and every
query can be previewed before collection starts.

- **A to Z**: seed + each letter (`mobile car detailing a` … `z`), 26
queries. Collection can start from any letter. Best for seeing the
  breadth of a niche.
- **Prefix**: a word before the seed (`best`, `cheap`, `affordable` +
seed). Surfaces commercial and comparison intent.
- **Suffix**: a word after the seed (seed + `near me`, `cost`, `prices`,
`services`). Surfaces local, pricing and service intent.
- **Templates**: custom patterns using `{seed}` and `{letter}`, such as
  `how much does {seed} cost` or `{seed} for {letter}`. A template with
  `{letter}` expands to 26 queries.

Prefix and suffix lists are saved per project and can be edited at any time.

## Step-by-step workflow

1. **Create a project**: open the popup, enter a seed keyword, and choose
the Google domain (18 supported, for example google.com, google.com.pk,
   google.co.uk) and the interface language.
2. **Choose a method** (A to Z, prefix, suffix or template) and check the
   query preview.
3. **Set the delay** between queries (minimum 2 seconds; default 4 seconds,
   with a random addition).
4. **Click Start.** NicheSpark opens Google in a background tab and runs one
query at a time. Progress is saved after every query, so closing the
   popup does not lose work.
5. **Control the job**: Pause, Resume and Cancel at any time; **Retry
failed** re-runs only failed queries. Already completed queries are
   skipped on later runs.
6. **Review the keywords** in the dashboard.

## How results are recorded

Each query ends in one of these states:

- **Done**: suggestions were captured and saved (with the number saved).
- **Empty**: Google showed no suggestions for that query.
- **Failed**: the dropdown did not appear in time or the page changed; the
error is kept and the query can be retried. Failed queries are never
  counted as completed.

If Google shows a verification (CAPTCHA) or consent page, the job stops with
**Needs your action** and waits for the user to resolve it in the Google tab
and click Resume. NicheSpark never tries to get around these pages. After 3
failed queries in a row, the job pauses automatically.

The user's own search-history entries that Google mixes into the dropdown
are recognized and **not saved** as keywords.

## Keyword data and deduplication

Every keyword is stored once per project. Duplicates are merged after
trimming, collapsing spaces and ignoring case, while keeping the original
displayed text. Each keyword keeps:

- the source queries that found it,
- the research methods (A to Z, prefix, suffix, template),
- first and last collected time,
- how many times it was seen.

A keyword returned by more than one query (for example by both the letter
`p` and the `prices` suffix) is a sign of a strong theme in the niche.

## Dashboard, filters and export

The keyword table supports:

- search, filter by method or by source query, and six sort orders (A to Z,
  Z to A, newest, oldest, recently collected, most seen);
- selection with checkboxes;
- **Copy** all, filtered or selected keywords (one per line);
- **CSV export** of all, filtered or selected keywords, with columns for
keyword, normalized key, methods, source queries, first and last collected
(UTC) and times seen. Files are UTF-8, so Urdu and other scripts open
  correctly in Excel;
- **Delete selected**, with confirmation.

## Backup and restore

- **Backup (JSON)** downloads the whole project: settings, prefix/suffix and
template lists, every query with its status, and every keyword with its
  sources.
- **Import backup (JSON)** validates the file first and lists any problems.
A valid backup is always added as a **new** project; existing projects are
  never overwritten.

All data lives only in the browser where NicheSpark is installed. Removing
the extension or clearing its data deletes everything, so take a JSON backup
regularly.

## Privacy and permissions

- No account, no server, no tracking: research data is stored locally in
  the browser and never uploaded.
- It runs only on Google Search pages, and only reads the search box and the
autocomplete suggestions while a collection is running.
- It does not access browsing history, cookies, passwords or other websites.
- Collection is always started by the user.

## Example results

A real session on the seed `mobile car detailing` (google.com, English, 12
October 2026) ran 33 queries (26 A to Z, 3 prefixes, 4 suffixes) and
collected **316 unique keywords** averaging 4.9 words; 200 were five words or
longer.[^casestudy] The main themes were:

| Theme | Keywords | Examples |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Price and cost | 39 | `mobile car detailing prices list`, `mobile car detailing quote` |
| Near me / local intent | 29 | `mobile car detailing near me within 5 mi`, `come to my house` |
| Outside the US | 23 | `mobile car detailing uk`, `mobile car detailing qatar` |
| Business owners | 17 | `business start up cost`, `equipment for sale`, `insurance` |

Prefix research also surfaced synonyms: `affordable mobile car detailing`
returned suggestions starting with `cheap`, plus `mobile auto detailing` and
`mobile car cleaning`. This helps with the Google Instant method's known
weakness of missing synonyms and alternate phrasings, although it does not
remove it.

## Limitations

- **No search volume or difficulty.** Google states that autocomplete does
not simply show the most common queries and should not be compared with
Google Trends; check volume in a metrics tool.[^google-autocomplete]
- **Results vary** with location, language, trends and the signed-in user's
own past searches.[^google-autocomplete] A collected list is a snapshot of
what Google showed at that moment.
- **Filtered predictions**: Google removes some predictions under its
policies, so a missing phrase is not proof nobody searches it.[^google-autocomplete]
- **Noise**: distant cities and business names appear; filter them before
  planning content.
- **Google page changes** can stop collection until the extension is
updated; such queries are reported as failed, not completed.
