## Why google.com

- The search engine handling the most traffic in the world right now is
**Google**. It has **85 to 90%** of the world's overall traffic.
- Everyone goes to Google and searches there, so everyone's data is there.
- So we reverse engineer **google.com** itself. Not Google's own pages, but
  **everything that ranks on Google**.[^athar-bajwa-untapped-niches]

## Method 1: google.com in Ahrefs Site Explorer

1. Put **google.com** into Ahrefs **Site Explorer**.
2. Click its **organic keywords**.
3. Apply filters to these keywords. First the **KD** filter: KD at most
   **20**.
4. Then, in **Add filter**, apply the **Word count** filter: word count
   **3**.
5. Now apply the **language**, **country** and any other filters from
   here.[^athar-bajwa-untapped-niches]

What is in front of you now is an **ocean**. From here you will find niches
that are **untapped**. When you find a niche, search it on the **SERP**. If
it meets the criteria, that is your niche. It is an ocean with a great many
fish, and they are all yours to catch.[^athar-bajwa-untapped-niches]

### The "download" filter

In the same way, add one more filter: in **Add filter**, select
**Keyword** and add a rule to match keywords with the phrase
**"download"**. It gives you the keywords that contain
*download*.[^athar-bajwa-untapped-niches]

If a **brand** gets its own app downloaded itself, it can also happen that
the brand is **not working in a specific country**, or is **blocked** in
that country. We can work in that country. Research will give you the
idea.[^athar-bajwa-untapped-niches]

## Method 2: Google Trends

- Every **new** keyword goes into **Google Trends** first.
- Google Trends has **2 Explore** options: the old **classic** one and the
**new Explore**. Work on the **new Explore**.
- You can get **seed words** from ChatGPT or Claude. Tell it that you want
to work in Google Trends for niche research, and ask it for **10 ideas**.
- Take a keyword from there and put it into Google Trends.
- From there, go to **related keywords**, take a keyword, check it on the
  **SERP**, and explore.[^athar-bajwa-untapped-niches]

## Niches not to work on

Any niche that is **haram** for us to work on as Muslims, we do not work
on.[^athar-bajwa-untapped-niches]

## Bonus: other search engines

There are other search engines in the world too. **Russia** is ignored
because people think there is no monetization there. Do not look only at
google.com: look at other search engines too, there is a lot to find there
as well.[^athar-bajwa-untapped-niches]
