Practical class of Sir Zakria Afzal's Etsy course on YouTube, a separate
course from the iSkills Etsy module.*

This class shows how keyword research is done, step by
step.[^zakria-afzal-niche-keyword-practical]

## The steps

1. **Top sellers**
2. **eRank / EHunt**
3. **Trend Buzz**[^zakria-afzal-niche-keyword-practical]

## Part 1: find the niche

- In **eRank**, search in **top sellers** and look at the best sellers'
shops. Niches are easy to find from here.
- Another way to find a niche: in **EHunt**, go to **Find hot products**,
apply the **digital products** filter, and find products.
- **Patterns** are in heavy demand on Etsy. People are making money through
  them.
- Now select one **category** you can work on, and note it
  down.[^zakria-afzal-niche-keyword-practical]

Finding a good niche is the **main task**, and these steps are how it is
learned.[^zakria-afzal-niche-keyword-practical]

## Part 2: find the keywords

Once the niche is selected, the next job is finding keywords. Say the niche
is **"PNG"**. Now it has to be **expanded**:[^zakria-afzal-niche-keyword-practical]

1. Reverse engineer the shops that come up for the niche. This is called
   **spy**.
2. Put the shop's link into **Shop info** in eRank. That shows what is in
   demand.
3. It also shows which of that shop's listings got the most sales in the
fewest days. **Note down** those listings' **tags**.
4. Then simply start working on the same kind of product.
5. **Export** all the tags, **upload** them to the **Niche Deck** tool and
**sort** them. Take out the **high volume, low competition** keywords
   from there.
6. To check a listing, put its URL into **Compare listing** and add it.
Everything about that listing shows up
   there.[^zakria-afzal-niche-keyword-practical]

## Stay in one tree

Within a niche, always work while staying inside **one
tree**.[^zakria-afzal-niche-keyword-practical]

## Shops noted in class

These shop names were noted down during the class:

- patternmasterone
- joyfulloop
- SewlunaDesigns
- artsudio611
- astheticsshopcrafts
- aricanocraft[^zakria-afzal-niche-keyword-practical]
