Objective

Extract the important NLP entities from competitor content, weave them naturally into your own article, and use an AI prompt to do the heavy lifting — building a content strategy that outperforms competitors on SEO.1

What an "entity" is

NLP (Natural Language Processing) identifies important "entities" — keywords, brands, product names, trends — that a search engine treats as central to a topic. Entities are the building blocks of what Google understands an article to be about; extracting them from ranking competitors tells you what to cover, not just what to say.

Workflow: single-article extraction

  1. Copy the competitor article ranking for your target keyword (for analysis, not for reuse). Example target: "Best Men's Hairstyles for 2025", with 2–3 top-ranking articles collected.
  2. Perform NLP analysis on it to identify the entities Google considers important for that topic.
  3. Extract entities with an AI prompt (below).
  4. Weave the entities in naturally — mention trends, brands, or specific examples without forcing keywords; add tables (e.g. comparisons), FAQs, and new sections your competitor omitted.

The extraction prompt

"Act as an NLP + SEO Expert Content Strategist. I will share a full competitor article about a trending topic. Your job is to: 1. Extract and list important NLP entities. 2. Categorize these entities neatly. 3. Suggest how I can organically and naturally weave these entities into my own article (so it sounds natural, adds topical depth for SEO, and doesn't look keyword-stuffed). 4. Give practical writing strategies and examples (table format ideas, comparison sections, FAQ sections, product mentions, celebrity name drops, etc.) to enhance my article structure. 5. Share any bonus tips for outperforming the competitor (extra sections, angles, or keywords they missed). Be conversational and a bit casual but very tactical and actionable. Also add your opinion if there's a better way to beat the competitor. End by asking if I want you to structure or draft the SEO-optimized article too."

A shorter version for quick sessions: "NLP entity extraction + organic placement + SEO content enhancement strategy + writing examples. Bonus competitive tips."

Always close the session by asking the AI: "Would you like me to structure or draft the SEO-optimized article too?" — a well-structured article is the move that actually wins.

Workflow: multi-article extraction (10 competitors)

For a fuller picture, don't stop at one competitor:

  1. Collect the 10 top-ranking articles for your topic.
  2. Save all 10 into a single .doc file, each under its own heading.
  3. Upload that file to the AI and tell it the file contains competitor articles for analysis.
  4. Use the same extraction prompt as above, applied to the whole file.
  5. If needed, screenshot important sections to share alongside the upload.
  6. Learn every keyword and entity your competitors are using, and base your content strategy heavily on that extraction — never stuffed, always woven in like storytelling.

Writing the first paragraph

Golden rule: the first paragraph is a summary of the whole article. It should quickly answer: what is this about, why should the reader care, and what new information or trend will they get? Keep it short, powerful, and curious.

Example: "Wondering what men's hairstyles will dominate 2025? From textured crops to low-maintenance buzz cuts, this guide explores the hottest trends, celebrity inspirations, and pro tips to keep you stylish throughout the year."

Analyzing competitor tone

  1. Copy the competitor article's link.
  2. Prompt an AI: "Analyze the writing tone, style, and structure of this competitor article (link below). Tell me if their tone is formal, conversational, casual, promotional, storytelling, or expert. Suggest how I can adapt my writing tone to match or improve upon theirs."
  3. Decide whether to match that tone or build something more engaging — your article should feel familiar to the reader, yet better.

Pro tips

  • Study at least 10 competitors, not just 1–2.
  • Give real weight to Semantic SEO — context, entities, and the topics surrounding your main keyword, not the keyword alone.
  • Keep asking why someone is actually searching this topic.
  • Keep a storytelling thread running through the piece to stay human and engaging, not just informative.
